TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS

FOR INVITED SPEAKERS AND ORAL ABSTRACT PRESENTERS

As a presenter in the N&G 2022 Virtual Conference you are asked to pre-record your presentation.

PRESENTATION RECORDING

Deadline: 3 March 2022

  • Please complete the publication consent form which will apply to your presentation(s). Kindly complete this prior to recording your talk.

IMPORTANT: PowerPoint Presentation Guidelines:

You may use the N&G 2022 template and follow the below guidelines.

  • Please note that your slides must be finalized and ready on the day of your recording.
  • Please ensure that the presentation slide deck is 16:9.
  • Kindly remember the first slide of your presentation must be your name and presentation title and then followed by the disclosure slide – and that you need to address the disclosure at the beginning of the presentation. If you have nothing to disclose, please add “No Disclosures”
  • We recommend that you label all slides that include unpublished data with a title: “UNPUBLISHED DATA – DO NOT COPY OR DISTRIBUTE”.
  • Click here to read tips and recommendations for preparing your presentation.

DURING YOUR PRESENTATION RECORDING:

  • You are encouraged to use the N&G Virtual Background
  • There will be a dedicated technician assisting you during the recording of your session.
  • CONFLICTS OF INTEREST DISCLOSURE – must be added as your first slide following your title slide.
  • Please make sure that you do not record longer than you allocated time in order to avoid being asked to re-record.
  • On the day of the zoom recording session, please make sure you are ready:
    1. Internet connection – please make sure it is strong and stable.
    2. Light – please make sure that there is enough light in the room, and that the source of light is not behind you. Natural sunlight is best if you are by a window.
    3. Sound– please make sure your microphone works well and that you can hear the computer sound. If you are using headphones, it is preferable to use small headphones that go in your ear. Please don’t unmute yourself. Make sure there is no background noise. Close your browser tabs, and switch your phone off.
    4. Frame – make sure you are in the center of the frame, not too close or too far from the camera. The camera should be slightly higher than your eyes. It often means stacking some books under the screen and tilting the screen slightly. Your head and upper body should take up a third or so of the screen. Using a mobile phone is not recommended, but if you are using a mobile phone, please make sure it is on a stable stand, so it won’t move or fall during the session. You are able to see yourself during the session so you can adjust your frame if needed.
    5. Background – we suggest: Esthetic and calm. Shelves, books, a decorated room, or a painted wall.
    6. Zoom – make sure your full name is written out – first and last name. Please do not use the “raise your hand” button. We recommend using the N&G 2021 virtual background.
    7. Appearance-Please don’t wear anything bright colored. It would be best if you wear a single-color shirt and a single-color jacket. Please make sure to wear the same clothes during the recording and the live Q&A section of your session.
    8. You may start with a short introduction and only then switch to your PowerPoint presentation. If you decide to do so, please be prepared for this transition.

LIVE DISCUSSION SESSION

  • If you are part of a session with Live Q&A, you will be invited to attend a technical briefing for a live session in March. Please ensure you attend one briefing.
